Brady's Christmas Post

They moved our p-day to today because its Christmas so that's why i didn't write this last Monday! Everything is going good :) i don't get to call this Christmas though cause im here. But its ok :) this Christmas has definitely been one to remember. The only thing i have had to focus on is the birth of the savior. And giving back what he did for us by giving him these next 2 years. I really have been pretty happy this Christmas. I can not wait to get out to Chiclayo! 3 more days! i leave Tuesday morning for Chiclayo and we fly there. My Spanish is definitely not ready haha but that's ok cause nobody's is. i feel like im where im supposed to be with Spanish. its really hard to understand them cause they talk so fast. unless its about church stuff then i can understand pretty much everything! i just know a ton of church words. We went proselyting this last Saturday! Me and my comp were put on a sick spot. Its called Lima Punte or something and its like a point that sticks out of the land. We were surrounded by ocean on both sides. the beaches are not that pretty here though. But my comp didn't talk at all. Thank goodness they put a teacher with us though to help us. So i pretty much had to do all the contacting and talking and the teacher would help if she had to. We got inside a house this time too! i was so excited. well we got into 2 houses but one was this crazy guy that was addicted to drugs. it was pretty scary. i could not understand a word he said and he just pretty much told us we were wrong. but we got into this other house and taught a 23 year old girl named Moriah. i pretty much taught half of the first lesson! the 1st lesson is way simple now. it was soooo fun though to actually teach a real girl. i loved it!! She seemed way happy after! i think the church was exactly what she was looking for. i can not wait to start teaching in Chiclayo and actually progress investigators. its crazy that my mtc experience is almost over though. i have loved it. i have learned a ton about myself.
Hows Christmas at home? Happy birthday the other day kenzie!! That sucks that usu lost. but awesome that they finally made it to a bowl game. Mom its ok that i don't have a package from you guys here. i got your letter! i loved it! ill try and send some stuff home when i get to Chiclayo. You guys should watch the bible videos on lds.org. they are about the saviors birth. i have realized how much i love my family and how blessed i am to have such an amazing family! family is so important. We are so lucky and so blessed to have a savior. Because of him we can be happy! He gave us the best gift ever. Im so thankful for the birth of Jesus Christ and his atonement. i can not wait to share it to the people! i love you guys! Merry Christmas family!

Third week in the Peru MTC AWESOME letter

Wuzzzz uppp fam! So we got to go tracting this last Saturday! it was out of control! I was with my Latino comp so it was amazing. We drove like an hour away from the mtc to the Lima central mission. Me and my comp were put in a area right on the ocean. it was so legit. oh my i loved it. The people are so funny its ridiculous. EVERYBODY is catholic. They all come to the door with their shirts off and come up with the biggest lies ever of why they cant talk to us haha. its so funny. i love it though. My comp (elder torres) was the biggest stud ever. i respect that kid so much. We had a couple of really good lessons with some people. I really realized how much Spanish i have learned here. I kinda knew what was going on. I talked some too in the lessons! i would always contact the people and try to get them to talk to us but as soon as they said something i couldn't understand i would just look at elder torres and he would go to work. The Gift of tongues is so real though. I was spitting Spanish i had no idea how i knew. I'm so stoked to get out there. The houses were not so bad though. It was a lot better then i thought i would be, but i guess that was cause it was on the ocean and there is a lot more money on the beach. it sucked seeing the ocean and not be able to go play in it haha. we tracted for about 4 hours though. Elder Torres left yesterday. It was so sad. Hes going to Mexico. I loved that kid. He was so nice and helped me with my spanish so much. I get a new latino comp today though so I'm pretty pumped on that! I love my teachers though they are so nice and all so sincere. It really is such a blessing to be here at the Peru ccm! it is preparing me so much better. i can not wait to get out to Chiclayo though and start preaching this gospel! It is a perfect gospel! Everything is so perfect about it! Today we get to go on a tour of Lima! Its only Americans cause all the Latinos left yesterday! I'm so excited! And then we get to play soccer tonight under the lights! I'm soooo excited haha. Soccer is so fun. Ive gotten a lot better since I've been here! That's awesome that Macy got baptized! I wish I was there! I love the pictures Mckell sent me though! mom you don't have to send the coat yet cause its way warm haha and i don't even know if ill ever need it! i miss the snow way bad haha. i wanna go skiing! Brod and beau you guys better go a ton for me and get good so we can all go together when i get back! I love you guys though! God bless

Im still alive! I still haven't got any letters or anything yet cause i takes about a week and we only get them on Wednesdays. it sucks ha ha. the rules are way strict here. The first couple of days here were waaayyyy long! But now they are getting faster! Soccer is way fun and way funny. My Latino comp is way good! They take it so seriously though its way funny. The weather here is way nice! its usually cloudy in the morning and a little chili but it gets way nice! they call Chiclayo the city of everlasting summer....haha so i guess its way hot there. I found out that we might get to wear hats on our mission cause of the sun hahahahahah. I was
so excited when i found out. Im getting a big sumbero or something. We are in the sun a lot already here so im pretty excited to start working on my farmers tan! The food is alright! I really can eat whatever they put in front of me know! It was way tough at first but I can down it like a boss now! We have had a ton of rice and chicken haha. But we we've had fish and some other weird stuff too! We have a American comaƱero and a Latino compaƱero. Im only with my Latino comp during when we eat and stuff though. Its way funny trying to talk with them. They talk so fast its ridiculous. Its crazy. Im so excited to get out on the mission though! Its gonna be awesome. This place has already been way humbling. Some of these guys seriously have nothing but are still out here. One of the elders in my room is straight out of the jungle. i love them all though. They are so funny and so nice. Today is our pday. We get to go to the temple soon and get to go walk out around the town after. Im soooo excited! its gonna be awesome. I really can not wait to get out and share this amazing gospel with everyone though! Its gonna be awesome! 5 more weeks! Sounds like everything is going good back home though! I love you guys!

Brady sent this Email the day after he arived at the Peru MTC

hola!! this is so weird and crazy here. haha last night was ridiculous. we get off the plane there are all these Peruvian people just waiting for people. we could barely walk there were so many. we rode the a bus to the ccm (MTC) and it was like an hour. everybody was just in awe cause we are finally here. way weird. the food is a little different but pretty good. we just ate lunch. but they didn't tell us that you had to eat all of the food or you cant leave ha ha. it was tough cause i got too much food and seriously was gagging trying to just down it. i have a Latino comp and a American one cause we aren't in the same classroom as the Latinos because they are only here for 3 weeks. i have barely talked to the Latino one though ha ha its tough. my American is pretty cool though! i sat by him on the plane. i had a pretty good discussion with a peruvian girl i sat next to. she spoke English cause she lives in the u.s. but she was pretty interested! i wanted to give her my book of Mormon but they were my leather ones so i didn't. i wish i did though. all we have done today is a bunch of paper work and we all had a one on one meeting with the mission president of the ccm. hes a pretty cool guy. i guess they are a lot more strict on rules here. but that's OK! i really am so excited to get out into the field though. it will be awesome. we get like a 6 hour break now cause we didn't get here till like 1 last night so we can take naps or do whatever. i think we might play some soccer so im way excited. it was way nice talking to you guys yesterday though. it sounds like you are all doing way good. im excited to get back in the missionary zone though and start studying a learning. its funny trying to communicate with the Latinos elders. i love it ha ha. ill try and send home some pictures next time though because i forgot to bring my camera to the computers. the buildings are pretty nice here. the showers are way nice. this has definably been the toughest part of my mission so far. i think its just a culture shock though and hopefully it will be over soon! i hated the plane ride cause there was nothing to do but think! i know everything will get better though and this place will start feeling like home. i got 6 weeks here! im doing great though so don't worry about me! i love you guys!!

See you in 2 years!

We made a quick stop at the Provo Temple to take some pictures before we took Brady to the MTC.  Everyone did really good.  (except for mom)  He has his travel paper's, he leaves for Peru on Nov. 16th.  We will be looking forward to talking to him soon!

Saying Good Bye to g-ma and g-pa

We stropped at Grandma and Grandpa's house on the way down to the MTC.

Grandma started to cry and made us all cry.

Opening my Mission Call

When my call arrived in the mail I was in Lake Powell with my family and some of my friends.  I called my neighbors the Hellsterns to see if my call had come.  Berkly ran over and said it was here.  So here I was in Lake Powell 8 hrs away.  We all started to try to figure a way out to get it.  I called a bunch of my friends to see if they could dive it down to me but no one could.  My call came on a Wednesday and I had to wait until Sunday morning to open it.  I invited a few of my friends while I opened it.  I was so nervous I could hardly read it.  Earlier that morning my sister-in-law, Mckenzie, said she had a dream that I was going to Peru.   When I read in the letter where I was going sure enough I was called to serve in the Cichlayo, Peru mission.  I was so happy and excited.  The only problem is I have to wait until October 26th.

I'm so nervous
I can hardly read this
I'm going to Peru

Missionary Paper Pic

This is the picture I sent in with my papers to Church headquarters.  I did not want to cut my hair short just yet but wanted to get my papers in as soon as I could.  So I slicked it back and had my dad take this picture.
